    Helm,

I am amazed how accurate DTN maps of frost forecasts have been... 4 days ahead. Rain very close as well... all summer; miles ahead of Enviro Canada.

Your right Tom. Another 26.5 million wasted with nothing to show for it.

Where is your thermometer set up?

In yard temps can be different than in field.

Buddy of mine between swift and rosetown had pictures of ice falling off the swather reel this morning.

About 4C in yard, so very close in lows pots, got a wind about 6am. Forecast 5C tonight.

You think your yard thermometer is probably inaccurate, try thermometer at the airport with miles of black pavement around it. That must be so accurate, Not. That's probably where the global warming hunyuks get their stats. And as cities encroach on many weather stations, think Environment Canada moves them out of the city?

I was looking at Leader airport weather station 5km from most of our farmland elevation 2201 feet. It could have froze in some low spots.

I wonder how the canola that was reseeded to "free seed" in areas hit by frost the last three days will turn out ... hmmmmm. There were some pretty shitty varieties seeded in June for free. It will be interesting. Even a "normal" fall last year could not save certain varieties from 20-30% green. But hey it was free... It's called a incentive or bait - either way, to get rid of garbage.
