I feel the same way Vvalk. I can see the temptation is there, but it is risky and soon we may be signing affidavits at the elevator saying we didn't desiccate.

Might get some more use outa the swathers . They have become completely retarded in price as well for just canola acres .
Some of these new swathers can cover Alota ac in a hurry , all GPS and auto steer - would not be the end of the world . I guess a guy would save $150,000 or more not needing a new fancy combine header then .

You guys do realize that in Europe... New Zealand... Asia... dessicant are used pretty much always as are growth regulators.

What's going to happen is we are going to get regulated to he'll and back.

Then again if you own a high clearance sprayer maybe having to go get a license is a good idea.

......learn to read and follow label directions and become familiar with proper crop staging application timing and a lot of future issues just may be mitigated.

Klause, what's your poison of choice for desicating rr canola? I used roundup and heat @ 10 gal. We'll see how that works in a couple of days.

                ado,

Weathermax Heat really did a great job on peas!

10 days and field is very nicely brown... including the 2nd growth. same cost as heat alone... half the water 10g/ac

Did heat by itself for seed... not near as good... wild oat escapes are still green. 20gal h20 and $12 per ac.. disappointed. Bet Canola will not be different by much.
