I notice my ground has mellowed this year.

Even with a shitty to no crop due to poor germ. With timely rains next year there could be good crops.

Record crops just seem to cause problems for the middleman anyway. They don't need the headache.

Locally the elevator eith a 38 car spot and 10000 tonnes is 2 weeks behind on cats.

My point was lots of the guys who are getting a crop this year on only a few inches of rain can thank the last 10 or so wet years. Crops roots go deep for water.
Yes Timely rains can give same results.
four good separate one inch rains at right time is all a farm really needs.

Heathy, extensive roots also find more nutients along the way as they search for water.

Soil tests from last fall showed whats way below could grow a crop after all the wet years.

Not that anyone hasn't seen pelicans before but now they are visiting the yard slough, Look at that sickening undergrowth in the field in the background. We have never had such a mess as this before. When should I start spraying Hobbit?

Farma, im not sure of the staging of the second growth. If its too under developed spray it now so little seeds dont ruin your good sample.
If it looks like its two weeks behind the main crop then let it stand until late september. You will gain more crop.
If its a lodged mess where the mature crop has fallen down into the second growth, spray it now and use high water volumes. Dont cheap out on water volume because you want good coverage.

              ....just because you asked.

                    Hobby,

Small seeds screen out no problem... green kernels that are the same size... turn dark... get frosted... and reck the sample.
