How in the World is Saskatchewan in a Deficit this Year?

How in the hell can we have a deficit here? Same story as Alberta give away all the real money from the resources to outsiders live high on the hog short term for a few people directly in oil then when it drops a bit your sitting there holding the bag with this big population of people with nothing to do.
    How stupid.

How are we running deficits at these taxation levels?

The problem is structural in nature and we are screwed because NO politician would ever get elected on a platform of what needs to be done.

We do business on both sides of Saskatchewan & Manitoba border.
I can assure you that Saskatchewan is WAY WAY more business friendly.
It wasn't always like that. Before the Sask party got elected it was about tie.
If you love paying more taxes for less service move to Manitoba.
It's an awesome province but the government is another story.

Well said Jake, don't agree with everything they have done, little things like, hmmmmmm, let me think, drawing a blank. Oh right I remember the dark years and businesses were bad, profit was to be theirs and it was always someone's else's fault. The deficit is protecting the north, building roads, caring for the welfare and sending money to have not Provinces. So suck it up and be proud of our growing Province and thank Opec for low oil prices.

As soon as the ndp were tossed, people moved back in droves. The whole attitude shifted. Sask Population GREW by more than 10%, where as it was formerly stagnant to declining.

The deficit, relative to Alberta is very much smaller proportionately. And oil is FAR less needed for Sask Coffers compared to Alberta.

We all hate deficits. But I believe it is a minor blip, like the federal one that is all but gone. You can't really plan for such a wicked fire season every year.

Unless young Trudeau gets power. Then we will have at least three 10B dollar ones, before the budget balances itself from the economy growing from the heart, as Canadians all live as one, and work together despite our differences... bla bla bla, fluffy donkey.

Exactly take a look at Saskatoon or Regina. Don't have to get on a pLane to see the Middle East.

They ve had all that oil revenue and potash and can't manage a thing. The oil only card game does. It work long term. In 15 to 20 years it is estimated fossil fuels will be phased out. And so let's go head first into it. What a joke no vision whatsoever.

But hey let's build a stadium pretty soon no one can travel down the road to get to it.

Well, I have eleven family members who have moved back to Saskatchewan. They are white as snow. I know what you mean, the cities are more diverse.

I think the stadium is a colossal waste of funds. And my SP mla has heard about it more than once.

A prostitute could answer the thread question.

Don't give it away for free.

Wall does that with our resources for the sake of taxing a few more workers until the jobs dry up. Stupid dumb bum policy that fails every time it's enacted.
