But , but Tom says rain this time of year is a blessing from God himself. We should be so blessed to finally get rain at harvest time - "ah the world is wounderfull since me writ has been lifted of me land" - God bless Canada.

Sure hope things get better for you and the rains stop till the snow hits - hopefully late November. Good luck and hopefully you get dry there guy.

I am just so disgusted by the mess, farma. It just makes me sick. We have been through wet years, but this is the worst I have seen in my whole life. Mid September, and water running, sloughs full, water like it is early April. Tired of walking to the tractor. Just tired. Tired of the fight, and it only just began. I did not know it would be this bad. I got stuck just before I made the post, and called it a night.

I worry about getting the grain off this field and other fields. You have to cross a run and it is trickling and I have no idea how to cross it, if it does not get better soon.

Sad what it does to my sons who are riding along when I yell and scream at the stupidity of the situation.

We are so screwed for next year if it is like this already.

It is too much for me. Just so beaten today.

Mud is frustrating and inefficient, I hope you get some heat.

Work safe when using tow straps Freewheat.

Same here north of you freewheat, disgustingly wet no way will a grain truck see the field this year, swather stuck on a sidehill, lowspots full of water. Made ruts a few hundred feet long on top of a hill with an empty combine.

I feel for you Freewheat. When it's wet anytime it makes work tough but things just don't dry out in fall. Just be careful. It's also not worth wrecking any machines over.

All the wet and you have to argue with Forage over Harper to boot.

Having experienced both I would rather lose a crop to drought than flooding. Flooding sucks. Hang in there Freewheat. Hope there is dry weather headed your way.

It bothers me to hear the kids have to witness the frustration. Not that they shouldn't be out there and more than likely its a battle for which one gets to come along. But what bothers me more is some expect us to put on the brave happy face and pretend all is a bed of roses. We shouldn't fool ourselves or the next generation. Don't deny the reality!!!

Hang in there and hopefully conditions improve for you.

                        Freewheat

You were so optimistic all year.

Sounded like you were on your way to getting a good crop while the rest of us droughted out.

                        Keep at it.

                        Maybe dual up the swather?

Please use the capital. It's a Brave happy face.

Business is tough,or everyone would want to do it. Farming has it's own challenges no doubt with weather foremost. But, when kids watch the parents deal with wet, dry, low prices, high prices, (cause there's lessons to learn there too), over regulation, bad and good neighbours, and especially "change", the lessons they learn from watching how the parents cope will shape their lives.

Freewheat's posts in the past leave no doubt his kids will be just fine. They'll turn out being the kind of people society needs more of. Society is filling up with spoiled, entitled, credit card maxed kids, who live in Mom and Dads basement until or if they can land something like a Manitoba Hydro full benefits parachute.

Because, if you make it so, the futures so bright you've gotta wear shades.
