Some wheat coming off south of Calgary is still grading a #3 moisture as low as 17%. Standing barley @16% moisture is being accepted as malt as long as the germ is their.

Has anybody thought of building a machine to separate ice chunks and snow out of canola? Or is there a machine on the market that with some adaptation could accomplish this? When it is cold at night, canola can be combined but a lot of the ice and snow ends up in the tank. Too much to dry out with a grain drier. Of course, the separation would have to be done at -8 degrees or less just like the combining.
