2008 wheat crop

can we lock in a price for 2008 through the communist wheat board? I couldnt seed any cereals this year due to moisture (thank christ I dont have to deal with the board for a year, its a holiday) but am going to seed winter wheat and hopefully some spring wheat for 2008. Can we lock in a price or are we still screwed?

you can tie up the futures for 2008 through the board. 08 futures are about a buck a bushel below 07.

Why would you tie up futures without knowing the basis or adjustment factors and then commit yourself to growing a crop?

Aug 15 fixed price on no. 1 CPSR. $229.22

Kansas City Dec 07 (6.76) Mar 08 (6.74) May 08 (6.60) Jul 08 (5.83) those prices average $6.48 with basis and adjustments of Dec 07 (-37.11) Mar 08 (-36.23) May 08 (-30.54) Jul 08 ( .23) turning all those prices in to one orderly price of the $229.22 per Tonne for CPS

at 5.90 is .58 less then Dec 08. What Basis and adjustment factors would be calculated against a futures first position?
