Choice (X) It's necessary for my farm. The single desk CWB costs me at least $50,000 Cdn per year. I can't afford it.

single desk!!! I can't afford not to have the CWB. That's why I'm a PRODUCER, not a grain broker!
(and yes, I'm bracing for another round of "board bashing" rhetoric)

If you're "flatbroke", maybe you should change your attitude about the value of the CWB's monopoly. It obviously hasn't provided you with the returns you need. Have you never thought it might pay you higher prices if it had to compete for your grain?
Sorry for the digression folks. I'll duck out.........

A few years back when canola was on the board did we see the good prices we have seen since it has come off the board? I dont think so. Marking choice

                    LES:

                    I thunk you slipped!

Canola was never under CWB monopoly control... did you mean oats?

Interesting to see feed oats at the local feed mill... paying farmers $4.00/bu!

MORE THAN MALT BARLEY! who would have thought!

Kasro; yes you're right! I'd be rich on the 1 bus. per acre I got this year if only the board were gone! And what about almost every year since oats were removed you could barely give them away? ... like I said, I was bracing for this, so fire away!
