    Russian Wheat Board (RWB)

It would appear communist Russia looks at the Canadian and Aussie monopoly export agencies with envy. So much so they want one of their own.

I'm thinking.........why don't we bundle up our whole agency - Ritter & Co. - and ship them over there? Kill two birds with one stone so to speak. Let them live with less than world values and us free to compete. It's perfect!

Russian minister calls for grain export state company

    October 22, 2007

Russian Agriculture Minister Alexei Gordeyev called on October 13 for a state company for grain exports to be set up, reported newswires.

"We see such corporations operating, for instance, in Canada and Australia and we, as a major grain exporter, should also create one," Gordeyev told reporters during and agricultural exhibition.

State-controlled conglomerates are taking over in many sectors in Russia and, together with the increasing dominance of state-owned gas monopoly Gazprom and state-controlled oil major Rosneft, illustrate the extent of the Kremlin's control over business. The president directly appoints the management and supervises the operation of these companies.

According to the newswire Prime Tass, the ever-growing list of sectors being taken over by state-controlled conglomerates currently stands at oil and gas, aircraft manufacturing, aircraft engine making, airline, banking, shipping, shipbuilding, titanium, bearing manufacturing, residential utilities, steel, nanotechnology and nuclear industries, as well as for the construction of Olympic facilities.

State companies for airport, factory equipment making, automobile manufacturing, military electronics, toll roads, investment promotion, pharmaceutical and fishing have also reportedly been suggested.

While you are shipping our CWB to Russia, why not hitch a ride? I'm sure the Ruskies would be glad to listen to your advice.

Perhaps Russia SEES the value in a national grain marketing organization for international trade whereas you can't or won't see this.

You seem a more likely candidate than me my friend to partner with a backward economy and marketing approach that has long outlived its usefulness and practicality.

From my perspective it is extremely ironic that a country that has mismanaged its international trade and internal economy to the point that it is now embracing capitalism as their salvation would consider a state trading agency for agriculture exports.

From a competitive standpoint I say "Let 'em have it!" I thought the Russians had learned their lesson but apparently not. If they want below average returns and lousy cash flow I think we have just what they are looking for.............

Clearly they arent't just looking for lousy returns, they are looking for low individual motivation, zero innovation, empty grocery store shelves, ration books, zero foreign investment, broken down machinery, poor living standards, and plenty of demand for vodka.

Not even speaking of the new demand for all the "force" required to keep the people in check,

Why do so many people around this globe embrace misery with such passion?

Think it was Churchill who said "Capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings.Socialism is the equal sharing of misery".
