parsley i believe it was americans who also enslaved people. my point is that the americans don't have all the solutions and you can be a conservative without being a neanderthal. someone like o'reilly wants to go back to life in the 1960's before everything got so complicated but that isn't going to happen. so someone's going to have to bring forward present day solutions to these present day issues. america (and a lot of other nations) have done great things but nobody has god in a box and an entertainer who calls someone a pinhead because they want to be paid in a more stable currency really isn't offering anything. i wonder how many wealthy americans have been diversifying their portfolios for currency exposure? i doubt bill will search them out. fox noise takes the stance it does for advertising revenue not out of any journalistic ethic.

As did all nations, and many still do.

The point is the Americans were the ones who made that committment enabling change to actually occur.

Can you not give them credit for their magnanimous farsight?

I find your lack of generosity towards our good neighbors not only uncharitable and unfair, but unfounded.

        People like o'riley scare me.

        Amen jensen.

The american right is being taken back by one of the greatest men ever Dr.Ron Paul.

He is restoring the constitution and a large number of peoples faiths in what really made america great.I can not express properly how much i believe in this man.Pars, you have never seen this far right.

It is confusing to some how a scum sucking loser like o'riley can be in the same political party as Dr.Paul until you look at the objectives.

I've read about people like you cotton work to get the scary republican the nomination Then his ass gets handed to him by the Dems.

          BTW McCain in 08

          From Wikipedia
(I don't know if this is true.)

Ronald Ernest "Ron" Paul (born August 20, 1935) is a Republican United States Congressman from Lake Jackson, Texas, a physician, and a 2008 U.S. presidential candidate. He has represented Texas's 14th Congressional district (1997–present) and its 22nd district (1976–1977 and 1979–1985) in the U.S. House of Representatives. Paul placed a distant third in the 1988 presidential election, running as the Libertarian nominee while remaining a registered Republican. After his 1961 graduation from Duke University School of Medicine and a residency in obstetrics and gynecology, he became a U.S. Air Force flight surgeon, serving outside the Vietnam War zone.

Paul has been called conservative, Constitutionalist, and libertarian.[2] He advocates non-interventionist foreign policy, having voted against the Iraq War Resolution, but in favor of force against terrorists in Afghanistan. He favors withdrawal from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the United Nations; supports free trade, rejecting NAFTA as "managed trade"; and opposes amnesty and birthright citizenship for illegal aliens. Having pledged never to raise taxes, he has long advocated ending the federal income tax and reducing government spending by abolishing most federal agencies; he favors hard money and opposes the Federal Reserve. He also opposes the Patriot Act, the federal War on Drugs, and gun control. Paul is strongly pro-life, advocates the overturn of Roe v. Wade, and affirms states' rights to determine the legality of abortion.[3]

During his 2008 presidential campaign, Paul places in the top tier in Republican straw polls and fund raising, but commands significantly lower support in landline polls of likely Republican voters, which have different selection criteria. He has generated strong Internet support and is the top presidential candidate Internet search term as measured by Hitwise, Alexa Internet, and Technorati; he has several times more YouTube subscribers than any other presidential candidate.

other nations abolished slavery earlier by legislation. actually it was the british who established slavery in america. they also abolished it on their own soil by legislation - without a civil war.

as far as my attitude towards the usa it has changed. i no longer give them any more benefit of the doubt than i give any other nation. you shouldn't believe so much american propaganda. what's happening in the world is easier to understand if you lose your prejudices. the world would continue to exist without the usa or any other country.

to go back to slavery it's actually similar to the outsourcing of american jobs to foreign countries today. back then they just brought the cheap foreign labour to the jobs instead of leaving the labour at home and sending them the jobs. i really don't think the companies sending jobs overseas have any more respect for the labour than the slaveholders did 200 years ago.

He probably would lose to the dems in this coming up election but its far from his falt.

The constitution is the document that made america. They have strayed very far from it and Dr.paul wants to go back to it.

Typical leftwing moral equivalency pap from Jensend here,

"i really don't think the companies sending jobs overseas have any more respect for the labour than the slaveholders did 200 years ago."

Jen you have no understanding of human rights. None.

                        1. What a distasteful diversion you entertain simply to avoid the point. Your attempt to compare slavery with outsourcing work is kindergarten mentality.

                        The point was:

AMERICANS defended the principle of freedom with their own blood.

                        2. What a distasteful comparison you have chosen. Work offerred by the Americans, for example Nike, was not done under duress, or by threat of a noose, which is quite different from slavery.

One cannot discuss/debate with a doorknob.

isn't this fun? first i know nothing about human rights. by the way the abolition of slavery was about money not human rights. read your history. slaveowners were compensated to give up slaves in great britain and american slaveholders said they couldn't afford to give up the advantage of slavery. then i'm a doorknob; whatever that means. anyways it's been a slice but i've enjoyed about as much of this as i can stand so i'm done with this thread. we still have a couple thousand bales to get set out before the weather gets too rough.
