    tearing up alfalfa seed acres

    Are guys tearing up alfalfa seed acres in central Saskatchewan? Makes sense with barley and canola prices. Has big ramifications on long term alfalfa seed prices, however. Guys here are tearing up alfalfa like crazy. Means higher hay prices eventually, then higher seed prices.

    Similar question forage seed acres in general peace river region. Also, what will be the impact of declining cow numbers be on tame pasture acreage?

      Central SK. we've sprayed out a thousand acres(alfalfa) this fall. Others got rid of lots last year. Some guys with irrigated had trouble finding anyone to cut it this year, so with grain prices at these levels expect more to get the Clear out next year.
