Things to follow in the coming week

May as well keep up the Monday thread.

My eyes/ears will be observing the ideas the CWB comes up with on malt and feed barley. Likely not for the current crop year but will be some ideas starting August 1 2008. Whatever ideas are presented for feed barley should also be offered for feed wheat (assuming there is cash pricing combined with guaranteed delivery contracts).

Not to be all CWB all the time, am watching soybeans closes as well. Note the $11/bu CBT futures and 47/48 cent a pound soyoil futures. WCE canola $465 on the nearby and just under $500 in July.

Dec corn hit $3.94 overnight but has backed off. Need a confirmed move above $3.90 to turn bullish.

        Charlie,

I would not hold my breath looking for changes!

When Asked why the CWB won't take more feed barley? Answer: Grain System Booked & flat out till March 08 &with strike looming no way the CWB can sell any more.

If this is TRUE the CWB should give us free export licenses till March 08... and we will find out if they are right!

A sack of rocks would be more innovative than CWB managers right now!

These people have obviously become the "Can't be done" folks...

NOT SMART. CERTAINLY not IN THE BEST long term INTEREESTS of the CWB COrporation.

Markets still showing lots of volatility, which can be a good thing. I think I'm going to reward the market. Sold out of yellow peas and booked some reasonable summer canola basis. U.S. bean/oil complex looks a little toppy to me, therefore will probably spill over to canola. $10.80 for canola looks alright by me.

          82-0-0 quote of $900.
          Diesel is getting pricey.
