Why do we always get paid lower than any place in the world for our product?
Yes its a spot price but since September its been close to these prices or above, Most farmers in Canada don't have their Durum harvested till September so we would have sold at the high end off the Combine. Not like ND where they harvest in August and sold for lower price. In a rising market we would have achieved better prices because were harvesting a month or two behind the US, so by the time the markets react to their problems our production is coming off and we would achieve better price if we sold right away.
Makes me proud to be canadian though with our superior grain grading system and our superior product getting paid the same as a #4 Durum.
LOVE THE CWB!
