Vader, What Happened to the CWB POOLS?

Dear Vader,

I just did a "Cash offering Price @ Port Position, the West Coast price has gone from $225/t in May to $450/t in Dec/07.

Decent moderate move consistently up through the months on this DNS 14px wht reported by US Wht Associates.

The CWB on the other hand:

For the pool they are just paying out... and just finished selling... flat lined the PRO!

WHY?

The CWB just finished selling the last of the 06-07 Pool in Oct of 07.

So why exactly did the PRO not rise appropriately to match the rise in cash prices?

We are told theCWB is selling 1/12 of the wheat it markets through the pool each month.

Obviously this must not be the case... or the 06-07 Pool would have had much higher/better results.

You are the expert Vader... what is the truth... How did the CWB sell our 06-07 wht/bly... and what % is sold now of the 07-08 Pool?

I see we have had a $100/t move up in the last 2 months... and the CWB reflects only a $50/t return.

Does this mean the CWB has already sold half the 07-08 Pool ONLY 2 months into the actual CWB wht sales year?

Did anyone else get the “Dear Contract Holder” letter from the CWB this fall? They announced 100 percent acceptance, but also go on to say:

“Market signals point toward weaker wheat and durum prices into 2008 as new-crop harvest begins in the northern hemisphere. Right now, the CWB is maximizing farmer returns through aggressive sales at current high values and early shipment prior to this new-crop arrival.”

Were they a little too “aggressive” and sold large volumes at what turned out to be not so "high values"? Is there any way to find this out for sure?

I really truly have begun to love this time of year. The final payments come in from the CWB and we/I get to hear the squeals from Angriville marketeers each and every time. Each time interms are announced squealing and sniveling begin anew and get louder and louder, usually ending with shouts for the demise of the CWB. Commie, pinko, stinko @#$#@##@ wheat board. Well enjoy the season, cause payments are flowing!!!!!!!!!

Funny thing burbot, as long as you get these paltry payments you do not seem to care that you are getting screwed over in realation to the world around you. But enjoy those "premiums" and have a Merry Christmas.

Domestic cash prices also average $4.20 1/2 for corn (-31 3/4 cents basis March CBOT corn), $9.18 1/4 for hard red winter wheat (-49 1/4 cents basis KCBT March wheat), $8.70 for soft red winter wheat (-71 1/4 cents basis CBOT March wheat), and $10.61 3/4 for hard red spring wheat (-11 1/4 cents basis MGEX March wheat). Cash bids also average $10.08 3/4 per bushel for soft white winter wheat and $17.73 1/4 for durum.
