    One Economist: "US in Recession"

Chief Merrill Lynch U.S. economist says that country is already in recession. See the article at:
    http://www.cbc.ca/money/story/2008/01/08/merrilllynchrecession.html

Interestingly, this economist has a bit of a sense of humor. Who'd a thunk it.

Of course, other economists don't agree. What is the possible impact on the Canadian economy and Canadian farm commodities.

    FOR ARGUMENTATIVE PURPOSES

There will be a lot of recession talk lurk-talking about while the US primarys flirt with followers that might vote.

What better for Democrats than touting the line of economists who claim that Cons have put the US into recession?

It is very interesting to watch where the $$$trillions created of "dark Liquidity"... end up!

I agree... commodities are a prime investment... if any problem with weather... anywhere... and this thing will go goofy.

Their was an interesting comment many times (Public/Private comments) in Saskatoon about a $150/t up-shift that has occurred globally in grain prices.

A prime concern will have to be; what gov. intervention will occur... and how this could affect risk management/market positions.

          Like BSE in 2003...

Since our produce is being supported by "funny money" can we expect any less than these kind of situations to occur?
