    FNA

should a farmer mainly looking for a generic roundup go through Farmers Of North America. Is there a cheaper alternative.

    ProFarmer,

I have a big order in with UFA.

At our meeting in Saskatoon... we had an interesting discussion about this situation!

I understand FNA has the rights to FNA "Clearout 41 Plus" in the US ... I believe it is regestered state side as "Glystar Plus" as well at other retailers than FNA.

If FNA were to apply to bring in "Clearout 41 Plus" to Canada under the new PMRA/GRO harmonised US/CDN system... the equivalency clause would logically mean "Glystar Plus" could also be imported directly... thus CDN growers could be avoiding a FNA membership.

Do you think FNA will apply to bring in "Clearout 41 Plus" under the new NAFTA harmonisation provisions?

There is no doubt the FNA business model was built on the OUI system. They would like to use it to their (FNA) advantage... when it means profit for them.

Will FNA on the converse... apply for registrations in Canada... when it causes a market arbitage that goes against them?

It appears Pulse Canada/ Provincial crops groups have been unfairly shot at by FNA... it is time they got a dose of their own medicine. Grower groups are simply trying to work through/smooth the wrinkles PMRA/GRO regs have... to end up with a good system that will mean US/CDN crop protection equivalency... and market arbitrage on these inputs!

What more can be expected of us?

For the first time ever, the retailers in this area are telling us to pre book glysophate now! for fear of shortage. The cheap stuff isn't so cheap anymore, this collusion is making me sick! We shoulda never let Focus on Inputs slip away.

i was rolled out my farm price on glyhosate...up a buck a litre over last year....i also read articles in the last weeks of higher expected sales in s america....higher usage here in n america last year as well...

I asked my rep if they were going to add new production capacity...was told they are running at over capacity at the plants, but have no plans to add new capacity down the road due to fears of more generic plants firing up in China in the near future.....

I am not happy about the dollar price increase....but can live with it and will look at my options....but frankly i am more pissed off at the increase of past years and likley this year again on the grassy weed and broadleaf control products.....some of the stuff i use is certainly not supply and production contrained.......and of course the border and arbritrage issues
