This is the letter sent by him to Ontag:
I am receiving many, many calls today from industry and producers
therefore since the board did not make a statement I wish to advise that
at 8:25 a.m. I was advised by the chairman and general manager that my
service at the Ontario Wheat Board as marketing manager was terminated.
Shortly thereafter I was instructed to leave the office without the
opportunity to say goodbye to a wonderful bunch of people in the
marketing department.
I received the following quote in a written letter of severence.
" You are advised that as a result of an operational review and decision
to move in a different direction your position with the Ontario Wheat
Board will be terminated."
I have enjoyed working with you ... the producers, industry and
Government. Moving the Ontario wheat industry forward over some 27 years
and look forward to doing so again in another position with another company.
