I just read on another site that john deere is sold out of 08 combines and is now taking orders on 09.I ASSume this is the mother company and not the dealers.

I heard that they where sold out a month ago for 08. I've heard that our dealer had one of their best years ever with sales.

On a side note we where looking at buying a new JD 4wd in November and they where sold out for spring delivery, or at least the salesman told us we had to buy that week to get delivery. I know with the dollar the price for a new tractor was allot cheaper than when we where shopping around 3 years ago. It might be a good time to buy shares in ag equipment manufacturers.

08 production for Western Canada was sold out by early November.We need delivery by early August. There may be a few "unsold" if a dealer is willing and/or able to pay them out, but JD does not carry inventory as in days gone by. Orders must be "sold orders" to be slotted for manufacturing. 30 series sprayers were sold out before combines.....Bill

We bought a 6420 loader tractor last winter, it took 6 months to deliver that and they were farther behind on bigger tractors at that point. I'm sure it's only gotten worse. Dealers here are grinning from ear to ear.
