In other news, the Canadian Wheat Board has been a slow seller of their limited supplies and has been quoting $21/bushel at Thunder Bay, which is comparable to Duluth/Minneapolis prices.

From Aug. 1 to Nov. 30, Canada has shipped 40 million bushels, that's down 40 percent from last year at this time when they had shipped 66 million bushels. Canada had been projecting a decline of just 30 percent.

“Apparently there have been some transportation bottlenecks, but they're also trying to ration tighter supplies,” Peterson said. “Plus, (the CWB) is in a political battle with their producers.

“(The CWB) is projecting a #1 grade price to be $12.85 per bushel to its producers which, if attained, would be a record for Canadian producers,” Peterson said. “But the Canadian producers see our $19 a bushel and their missed opportunity to get that.”

Charlie the Next PRO better have $200 Increase in Durum or they will be done like dinner.
Also HRS better be $100 plus.
But when you live in a system where your guessing how someone else is doing at selling your product its still a guess.
On Canola I have a basis for March Delivery etc. Its $13.00 plus today. I know where I want to be and will start sales their. On Oats I have a basis for April delivered local for $3.00 I know where I want to be.
But HRS I have DPC and Durum I cry.
Peas I have a locked in Price of $8.00 this morning. I can live with that as a starting point.

Saskfarmer, Have you checked with elevators stateside, will they buy Canadian wheat or durum? I'm tempted to load up & go.

Yea they will buy it. I think a few guys are starting to think about a run. I will be gone till mid Feb.

I'm gone till April. My thoughts are a convoy brings too much attention. Just load & run quietly across. If Harper & Ritz send a memo to Canada Customs instructing not harass returning trucks,(undoing Goodales memo) it would be up to cwb to enforce their act. Or hire US trucks.
