CWB to offer farmers to keep grain till 08 crop year!

The CWB just doesn't get it the whole world is out of HRS and we are suppose to save this years crop for our preferred customers so that they have a guaranteed price and supply for next year HM.
Didn't Communism die. Farmers we are saving our Crop and I say our crop because I am the one responsible for it till its in the Boat for our preferred customers so the CWB can give it away to them Next year for a good price. Wink wink. Come on $15.00 a tonne for this task.
Some thing is wrong with our system and I am believing more and more that the CWB must End not just stay in a Dual Market.

    DEANNA BABY ANSWER THAT ONE!
I am getting really sick of this BS. Work for every one else in the system and Screw the Farmer.

Farmers paid to store wheat for top customers Prairie farmers will be paid up to $15 a tonne to store their best wheat in reserve for their top customers. Sign-up begins today (JAN 22.08) for the program, which will preserve up to 150 000 tonnes of Canada's best spring wheat from the 2007 crop. Under the program, farmers reserve grain from good harvests to offset the risk of being unable to supply premium customers during years when the crop is of lower quality or when stocks are reduced. In recognition that on-farm storage space is at a premium, farmers will also be offered an offsetting delivery opportunity for equal tonnes of other wheat from their 2008-09 crop. The CWB has this year expanded the WSP to all delivery points across Western Canada that have access to high-quality spring wheat and are capable of loading 25-, 50- or 100-car blocks. (CWBRELEASE) Cross-ref to comments on p1 – rest of the world is out of wheat and willing to pay – so we store for “premium customers”? Interesting concept. ( CWB) (RELEASE

If countries around the world that realize their might be a real shortage of wheat next fall are scrambling to fill their warehouses at theses prices but our best customers, we as farmers are suppose to save it for them so that they can buy it next fall for a undisclosed price. Something is wrong and .40 cents premium to due this and then wait till fall of 09 to get paid something is really wrong.

      Something is wrong.

      Follow the money.

Who could stand to gain a substantial wad of cash, from a scheme like this?

Actually Saskfarmer a farmer will most likely be able to fix price that wheat and end up with 15 dollars extra and likely an extra 2 or 3 dollars extra for the new crop fixed price when he prices it. Sorta seems like one should not get too hasty to deliver the best wheat. Could be something like this happenning. I wonder if we can now also expect the old crop pro to decline accordingly. That would suck to the one who delivered and could have held.

            Saskfarmer,

            This is a VOLUNTARY program.

No ball and chain attached. Next crop year 08-09 pricing if you want.

One of the better sales management ideas the CWB has come up with. Much cheaper to pay growers than elevator co's to store it till then!

Here's a good one tom, Deliver today to Bow Bells ND get $12.00 in my pocket today. On 20000 bushels that's $240,000 leave till next Dec and add $8000 interest Or leave with CWB till fall
Take their BS programs that all complain about on here and get.40 for waiting. Isn't it funny that that's exactly what the big premium their paying equals what I would make on the interest. And for one second do you think the CWB will let you get $12.00 for your product with their programs.
Come on. Your the CWB expert!
Money in your pocket is better than a promise of money in the future.
And don't you find it funny how we have to keep kissing the A-- of our preferred customers for what premium. The stats showed this premium seller of our grain losses us money every year.
Its like saving grain for your poor farming neighbor so that next year when every one grows a crop you can give him the extra share to balance things out.

                Saskfarmer,

This program is basically for wheat already contracted to the 07-08 crop year. It is not perfect by any stretch.

Since the "single desk" remains... it is better than a kick in the head... in that it does allow a further small bit of marketing flexibility.
