Saw the interview, scary but nothing we didn't know. We just didn't know when the Ag boom would occur.

good interview, i have heard on several occasions over my 20 years growing crops that this would come....it is here now, we just need to make the best of it.....the bigger question will be what is the new normal range of prices we need to work with.....

CP you called the highs we have been seeing..if i would not have been burned so bad in 95 and other runs i would have sat on the sidelines longer....

makes me wonder what is going on in the plains of Eastern Europe.....is that the next place of great production growth..can they sort out the infrastructure and the politics, are there any agpreneurs looking at it....??????

Can only comment on the Ukraine.

Lots of problems around their subsistance farming, lack of credit and land ownership reform. They are making progress however. Indicators.

A machinery dealership on the way into Dneipropetrovsk, Ukraine that is as big as anything here in Canada with a full line of equipment.

European investors that are moving into the Ukraine in a big way to rent land. North America is also looking as indicated by investors visiting Canada recently.

Finally, not everyone is broke in the Ukraine - some are extremely wealthy people and $10/bu wheat, $13/bu soybeans and $5/bu corn make agriculture a good investment. I can see this region doubling production over the next 5 years.

Can the demand side grow as quickly as Eastern Europe increases production - likely for the next 3 years based on the assumption nothing happens to impact the demand side. 5 years out and you have to start wondering - particularly if cellulose technology beats out cereal grain for ethanol production.
