    DATE: January 24, 2008
2007-08 Pool Returns Continue to Strengthen; Durum and Wheat Show Biggest Gains
Winnipeg -- The CWB today released its latest Pool Return Outlook (PRO) for the 2007-08 crop year. Wheat is up $16 to $33 from the December PRO, with durum up $20 to $25. Feed barley is up $5 for Pool A and $4 for Pool B, while malting barley is up $3 per tonne from the December PRO.

I find the malt barley interesting. Alberta and Saskatchewan payment of $5/bu. This compares to a Montana price of $6.70/bu and current Alberta feed barley prices of $4.25 to $4.50/bu.

The suggested new crop price (CashPlus program) for malt barley - $6.50/bu (somewhat moving target) versus new crop in the US in the $6 to $7 plus a bit range.

What a huge disappointment. I guess the next move is to start calling the CWB elected reps and complain about the piss poor level of marketing ability they have.

        Major disapointment HRS and Durum.

Major losses happening on Western Canadian Grain farms Due to excellent marketing by our CWB.
        The losses just keep mounting.

        SCREW THE CWB

If this latest PRO doesn't prove to the CWB supporters that your beloved CWB is stealing away millions of dollars from your farm. Here we are half way through the year and their over 50% sold and prices have been up since October yet the CWB hasn't achieved even close to the real value of grain on the world market.
If their asking 23 to 21 for Durum since November should they have hit a great return on some of this years crop.

Maybe these prices wouldn't be so bad if we had a borg dome over us, like most cwb supporters would seem to like. No outside prices just the feelgood poverty allowance our richeous leaders could hand out when we need to buy groceries. Remember you are JUST A FARMER "dumb and poor" you cant possibly be able to market your own grain. They sure hope we stay that way.

I believe that AHMEN if I could get the US price for my CWB crops Malt Durum HRS and Canola I have left plus peas I wouldn't need a opp in 08. HM I would be in control to buy from who ever "I" want and market to who ever I wanted. But with our useless CWB and the grain that I have left to sell that could still go state side, is as of today worth $415,000.00 less. Actually that would leave Cash in the Bank. HM thanks CWB for Keeping farmers Broke.

One clarification I did not need a US price for Canola or Peas since in Canada along time ago I got a Basis for March and June Its a nice low one So big Bonus is close. But wait with them I am in Control.

I notice that CWSWS wheat in the pool is now worth more than #2 CWRS 13.5 percent protein. Not bad for a grain that the CWB thought they would never export 5 months ago.
