The dollar's 1.5 cent rise would account for some of the disparity.

        mcfarms,

        1.5% of $12.40 would be.... 20 cents...

Just goes to show how vulnerable we are to the appreciation of the CDN$.

If the Fed cuts another 50 basis points next week... the loonie will fly again!

MFarms how is it that now the dollar is effecting price in a huge way.
our dollar has been below the US dollar or close to par all month.
Yesterday it rose a little but .02 cents change so instead of .30 its .28 not a .20 cents took-age for the PRO prop up account.
Also MGX is up .30 over night again will the CWB today get us a DPC in my pocket of over 11.00 HA I doubt it.

Of course the dollar had some effect on the price and remember the DPC isn't based on the Mgex it's based on a blanket of elevator prices. Did the basis widen in the northen tier states?
If you want to keep complaining about winning the DPC lottery I'll gladly take your tonnage.
I think the DPC is infuriating in that the few that got in DO have access to the US market in some respect those of us who didn't get it or don't deal with Cargill are really getting stroked.
The DPC needs to be changed to a pro rated system for all the producers that apply for tonnage or neeeds to be scrapped or the whole thing has to be thrown wide open.
If I ever saw a chance for a legal action against the board due to it's inequity it's the DPC.

mgex march this morning 12.37 you multiply that price by 1.5 or 1.6 percent which was the appreciation against the greenback yesterday and as Tom said .20. As for the remaining dime look at the basis.

Dollar is a little weaker this morning, the question for now is next week and march 4th. Do we see a .5 reduction in Canada and a .25 in the States as is being widely bantered about.
When we get to grain prices at this level the currency rate swings are even more pronounced.

That said at what level did you order all that new Green paint and how'd the currency work for you there Tom..... (like I don't know there's some coming without even seeing or talking to you) LOL

OK were all getting stroked big time from the CWB and not Enjoying it.
One thing I noticed this morning the Basis the locals are using in ND and Montana is almost Zero. So average price is over 12 dollars a bushel compared to the DPC which is at 10.89. A joke is still a joke.
In pit price HRS country. NOT TEXAS LIKE CWB USES>
