For all you CWB marketting geniusses, where the hell is new crop durum supposed to be at? Don't you think us farmers would like to know???
Like right now. Not next 20 months from now but right now. Today. At the moment.
Instead it is hauled, railed, trucked to port to be disposed. When do we farmers get to take the highest price. Be it American, European, African, let them bid for it. Leave fixed daily prices open year round. Let other over bid the CWB. Make the CWB compete.

Is it possible that isnt vader, just someone posting as him? I cant believe an elected representative would make such a stupid statement in a public forum.
Did vader ever step down or take a leave of absense related to him running for political office?

      SCREW THE CWB

He signed his name and cwb title to that post.

I wonder if he has the balls and the blessing of the board to be submitting that to the western producer or any other national paper?

Ummm, Vader by the way Saskfarmer if in an open market system may have sold more of his high grade durum for less than the current pro, I don't care much for Saskfarmers statements on when he would have sold his crop. But he is entitled to his opinnion and his right to sell his crop to whom he chooses. In that case the CWB supporters and marketters would in fact do better. But you insist that good marketting does not work because you say that good marketting is not competitive, the fact that most farmers have 5 or more grain recieving companies within 100 miles or more(Just a guess), they must all be in cohoots against the farmer. Why can we sell Canola 2 years from today if we think it is profitable???? The CWB gives us a price and what the fxxx is that?

What about the Durum grower that fixed priced durum in July 07 then got feed? He didn't get paid because of the feed deduction, he owed the CWB some major coin after delivery after delivering a commodity with some value. Is that the cost of doing business? I heard of that happenning in the 1920s but gees this is the 2000's.

Vader you did not say that that farmer even was in the pro or if he got the early fixed price and got feed. He could have got minus 70,000 after delivery or plus 1.7 mill, so what is his name??? Care to share?

hopper yes i used the comment that the Relatives in ND delivered durum for 9.60 and sold it all, But they have the choice that we don't. But they also have their money and can lock in a fall price on some of their production. They also are still $2.60 a bushel ahead of me and the CWB. Even if they increase the price next week their still ahead. So waiting till Xmas of 08 for a final payment from our Beloved CWB and a dream that we are going to achieve a better price I still take Cash up front and option to lock in price for some of my 08 crop.

Both Ron and wd9 make a good point. The postings are anonymous and could be someone else.

Maybe Vader is posing as Wd to try turning the heat down.

Then why hasn't he come on to deny writing it?

It sure reads a lot like the old vader who used to belittle us in the past.

If you guys are gullible enough to think that the post was from vader then maybe Saskfarmer you are gullible enough to sell me the rest of your durum at $10 ($.40 more than your N.D relatives) this way you can get your money up front and avoid the nasty CWB.

                            Vader:
Did you ask a few more questions? I think this farmer was just plain happy, after enduring years of low prices, high input costs, etc.
This year farmers are just getting back to square one. We need a few more years of good crops and prices, before you can rank us up in the top 100.
I think the boys in white coats should come out to visit you. Get in the real world.

Mustard either way Money in your pocket is better than money paying VADERS Salary from the CWB.

                                Jackflash,

Well said. That was classic Vader... and the Ken Beswick quote proves the point.

Nice bait and switch try Vader!

Too bad folks on this web site were there... did the work and time... to know what was/is reality.. and what is arrogance and fluff. The CWB are the true masters of Fluff... shallow, deceptive... Fluff.
