What is pushing the price of rye? Feb price delivered to East Calgary is 9 and a half bucks. It is nice to average up and thankfully I still have some to participate. Sure beats the 4.50 price I took last fall. (that was a reasonable sale and I'm not complaining)

about mixing with wheat. However, at $9.00 I wonder at the economics of mixing it off with wheat.
At $9.00, if it's verifiable, you wonder what specialty user - distiller or miller - is short bought.
Mind telling us who the bidder is?

A comment from an analyst that I have a fair amount of faith in:
"At that price - it's all about the wheat. Whether it's going to a miller for direct processing into rye flour or being blended off into spring wheat, 9 1/2 bucks is damn cheap compared to the wheat. Demand rationing is happening in wheat, and some of that will shift to rye, one way or the other."

The great part is we get to participate fully with no CWB pooling and interference. Yes I missed some of this opportunity by selling some in Oct. but the pooling process would also include the $2.00 rye that I declined to sell into. I like to make my own decisions no matter misguided and uneducated they might be. I will take my chances without the boards help any day.

per, I hope we get a chance to market what we own.
I don't think the Liberals will give us choice, do you? Here's the latest popularity poll from Nik Nanos:
Canada (N=841, MoE ± 3.4%, 19 times out of 20)
Liberal Party 33% (-1)
Conservative Party 31% (-4)
NDP 19% ( 2)
BQ 10% ( 1)
Green Party 8% ( 2)
