Elected Political Candidates Should resign as Sitting CWB Director

In the case of Rod Flaman, he is an elected Director of the CWB.

He is also the elected candidate for the Liberal party, running in the next Federal election.

The media could help him raise his profile.

If he were to be seen as hiring a lawyer and "fighting" for the dismiassal of Deanna Allen by the Board of Directors, he could accomplish several thing:

    1. The press would call him.

    2. He could make it appear as if it was not the Board of Directors who dismissed Deanns Allen.(political motivation)

    3. Instead, he could make it look like the Conservative Government itself dismissed her.(political motivation)

    4. He could work closely with the Liberal party to co-ordinate further attacks on the sitting Government(political motivation)

    5. As a farmer director, he would appear in the public as sticking up for farmers and court votes.(political motivation)

The point is, the Board of Directors fired her, he was one of them, so why did he stated he was looking at hiring legal counsel?

Is there something wrong with this scenario?

    Absolutely they should resign.

What bothers me more is that the other directors do not stand up and say "Rod its time for you to step away"

Actually they tried to talk about this at the board table but Rod wouldn't leave the room.

This is undemocratic and proves who's interests old Roddy is looking out for.

Thing is with directors Toews, Nickelson, Olberg, Flaman,kKyronichuck they spoke out on Deanna's firing, breaking board room confidential protocol. Give Ritter, Motuik, Vos high marks for respecting this, and not commenting. I even think Hill and McCreary have some smarts to know when to say something and when not to.
The dis***ntion of this board comes out so clearly out. These directors all took or are in the process of taking Directors College. Each at a cost of up to $25,000 just for the course, then charging their per deims and expense on top. All this comes out of - naturally - our pool accounts as administration costs.
This excellent course has done little to improve what happens at this mock board table.
As to Flaman, they bent their own code of conduct to keep him at the table, why should we expect them to suggest that he leaves any time prior or during the election. He might lose, and will still need a job for goodness sake!

All I knows is they were wanting to discuss the fact that Flaman is a liberal candidate and they wanted to discuss it and he refused to remove himself from the discussion.

If he had any intelligence he would know better.

I know nothing else and I would not call that knowing anything.

              Stubble,

The fact that Flaman has not declared a clear conflict of interest, and even clearer apearance of conflict... is proof on the Allen issue that he broke the Code of /Conflict/ of Interest Guidelines.

Flaman is part of the Liberanos... and has NOT seperated himself from the politics... therefore he is guilty any way you want to slice it.

The CWB has a big problem.

Organics... Flaman got his own crop excluded from buybacks... which means as long as everyone else can arbitrage international markets... he can top.

              Commercial growers CAN NOT.

$20/bu Wheat... we are locked out. Rod is not.
