Ritter gets his Reward - From Brad Wall!

Politics is an ugly ugly game. Now it’s out that Ken Ritter will get a position with the Saskatchewan Government when his term at the CWB is over, courtesy of his buddy Bill Boyd (for foreigners - he’s the Minister of Energy) and the Premier. Ken Ritter, Deputy Minister of Energy? How about a single desk agency for our province’s oil and gas? Think our energy producers will take well to that idea?

It was distasteful enough that Boyd was rumored to have been lobbying on behalf of Mr. Ritter and the CWB prior to the Saskatchewan election. It must have been true because now the payback is coming, and it’s even smellier. First Ritter pays Boyd - now Boyd pays Ritter. First incident was with my pool account funds, the second with my tax dollars.

When will politicians ever learn? I thought Brad Wall was an intelligent guy, but actions speak louder than words. It’s hard to believe how fast these guys can make the same mistakes that every time - always - guaranteed - time after time -starts their path to political defeat. These guys won’t last past one term if it starts this soon.

It looks like rewarding an old buddy is more important than principle at the Sask Party. I don’t know how others feel, but this hurts. I gotta go get the knife out of my back. Then, if I have any blood left, I will call Brad Wall and let him know this kind of politics is about as stinking as it gets. And I won’t be contributing to the Sask Party in any fashion in the future.

By the way, in case you want to call somebody …….

    Wall’s Swift Current Constituency Office (306) 778-2429

    Premiers Office (306) 787-9433

Sask Party Caucus Office (306) 787-4300

    Nice rumor.

But just a rumour is what I hear.

Better check the facts before you launch another lawsuit with the money coming from the pooling accounts.

In the meantime, it is rather amusing listening to your tantrum, falling down on the floor, kicking and screaming.

Bite, snipe, bawl, bash, slash, hit.

Smack! Smack! Damn. Your mother will probably get blamed for not being effective enough.

    Sigh.

And if it turns out to be true?

Even if its a rumour, you do want it to become truth. I've got nothing better to do so I will be calling the government. Might even mention how much money Ritter and his team of buffoons has cost the provincial treasury. Ritter is a capital S socialist and must be put out to pasture not into the government.

Wouldn't you kinda have had to have at least attended a Conservative banquet to get a er...deputy position?

Minister Boyd would probably choose ex-premier Calvert if the Government decided to forge a new agenda, and wanted to "socialize" Energy and Mines.

At least, Calvert could then make every employee in E and M a Deputy Minister in order to satisfy his "equality neediness".

cott, if you think political loyalty plays no part, apply for a Dep Asst position in Finance and supervise the markets.

The deputy minister thing is only question I raised. I have no idea what they are considering for Ritter, only that they are.

It doesn't matter to me what kind of position they might have for him, the very fact it is a possibility gives me heartburn. I don't care if its chief dog catcher or supervisor of broom closets. Ritter's actions have cost this province's farmers hugely. There should be no political reward for that.

The Sask Party, the Premier, and Minister Bjornerud has shown strong leadership and clarity with respect to the CWB. But to hire Ritter would unravel all they've so far said and done, and sow distrust and disgust among those of us who worked for and supported them in the election. So much for a strong connection to the people. It looks like personal connections and political payback for something or other is getting in the way and sullying the newest provincial government in Canada only weeks into its life.

And they are doing it to themselves just like all other governments before them. Here I thought they would be different. How stupid of me.

MAYBE, its only a nasty rumor.

Not a happening event as far as I know.

That being said, Ken Ritter, it is rumoured, has a degree in Education, has a law degree, has served on various boards before, and has been chairman at the CWB for a long time.

I certainly disagree with his stance on the single-desk, and I might even disagree with his stance on ...pick an issue...
child rearing? religion, smoking dope? charities? bedwetting?

              Good grief. So what?

He would still be a capable candidate to serve on a Board of some kind, would he not? Lotteries? Immigration?

To me, he is a human resource with value, with capability. Not saying I wouldn't want to give him a stunned 5 minutes in the ring with Chuck Liddell to even up things for the CWB ship he has manned into the Reef of ill Will,, BUT he, like everyone else, has things to offer, Willfort, and should prove to be more than an adequate contributor to society.

Temper your judgement and use that fervent energy you have displayed to fight for choice marketing.

I might have something to offer too. I might even be intelligent. I might know what's good for our province and the barley industry for example. But if my actions weren't guided by that knowledge, have I been a positive force? Will I do things differently in a different place in a different time?

                Does integrity count?

Appreciate your passion on marketing choice Parsley, but there are other issues too.

Integrity and tone at the top is necessary to get all the issues settled correctly.

If Ritter gets a job with our provincial gov't, I'm cancelling my membership with the Sask Party!

If I could argue/debate about something that is real, I would be a little more enthusiastic.

                    This is not.

If I claim it is rumoured that David Orchard has just been appointed Deputy Minister co-chair with Alanna Koch, we could engage in an interesting debate; however, it just isn't so.

Do you want to debate it anyways?WillyFort and lesm, I honestly don't think you will see a Ritter appointment.

                    Maybe Flaman.

                    Just kidding.

                      Definitely not vader.

                      I imagine Roseanne wants him.

Parsley, after you've done your due diligence, come back and say there's nothing to it.

                        Until then, don't assume anything.

Call Bill Boyd. If you can't get him, call the premier. Ask him to categorically deny it, preferrably with a public comment. I'll take everything back I've said on this thread if he does.

I think I did my homework.

Government officials do not announce who they did not appoint.
