The fertilizer prices below are updated every Friday using The Market as source. This is the same source used by TDN Finans.

When the source price is an interval, the average price rounded to the nearest integer has been used. If a price is missing in The Market’s report, no updating is made in the table below. If the previous week’s price is adjusted in the more recent report, the table is adjusted accordingly.

HM can you say in Canada the Screwing has been happening.

So what did you do about it this winter?? Did you talk to your MP asking not if they felt there was an issue but asking if there was a way to better streamline the import process to the farm gate. Did you buy from FNA and source outside of NA? Did you band together with neighbours and put together a 20 car order of product and have it railed into your area? Did you buy some fertilizer bins through the environmental farm plan farm stewardship program and have all your 08 product on hand in the late summer of 07.
Think in terms of solutions not problems, what are your solutions????
Or did you just stand by and get screwed? Did you not think it wasn't going to happen?
You may have done some of the above even but to others tht read this ask yourself the same questions.

MCfarms god don't get me going.
I am a page ahead of you Most days.
This was going to happen but guess what this is a discussion website and I am throwing out what is happening in Fertilizer spreads between Canada and USA and World price.
Yes as farmers for two long we have been comfortable to sit on our hands and let the experts represent us well over and over, and one sees how well these people actually work for us. From our CWB reps, to our politicians, our Farm groups etc. But its hard for one person to change the world. But by giving a little information maybe it can light a fire under farmers A--es and get things changed because its only going to happen if we want it.

So then what strategies do you offer going forward as far as input pricing?? As you said it's a discussion forum ,I offered some things we have done or neighbours have done this year to address this issue what have you done or seen or feel should and or could be done.
I think I remember you saying you've covered all your 08 fertilizer by pricng earlier on as we have too. Our dry blends have been bought and paid for since sept07 latest and we had some phosphate in here in June which was a good move but I'm always wanting to hear what strategies other are doing that I might be missing as well in order to get on the right page as it were.

I know Ill get hit on this one but getting into bed with FNA and Changing your fert system is probably a good start. Buying a Used floater and putting on their 34-0-0 will save money but their is the extra work right now were Anhydrous and one pass.
But having trouble with bringing back fert from USA. Cant get them to let me miss the boarder and just go to belplaine and bill through them.
Need help here. Also you would thing the Fed Competition Buero would look into this.
But is it part of NAFTA we cant sell to our own cheaper than USA or Mexico.
Were getting screwed either way.
Building our own Fert Shed on Farm to Store Granular Fert by Semi Loads.
But its got to come from off shore that's the key to get these guys.
But then yesterday my local Fert dealer was mad because he couldnt get his Durum to ND and I reminded him of my problems with Fert.
But I also see one big problem that has happened this winter, Farmers who sold Canola at 7.00 - 10.00 to make sure they have fertilizer in the bin but the price increase in Fert is no were near the loss they took in the selling of a commoditee to soon.

You think it was a fluke bse hit at the top of the cattle bull market.
