    Putting on the Ritz

Bill to remove barley from the CWB to be introduced Monday. Damn the torpedoes fool speed ahead!

Don't hold your breath waiting for the law to be passed.

It could take weeks for the legislation to get through the committee stage alone, and then there's the hurdle of the Senate.

Agstar. You may lose now.You may lose later but you WILL lose. The time for central control is past.Decentralize.Respect diversity.

Why keep fighting a doomed rearguard action to save an archaic icon?It must feel hopeless at times.

If we don't win it here,it will be on another front. We're closing in.

        Agstar77,

        Mock us all you like.

The CWB Directors are killing the CWB... by fighting for retention of Barley.

The $10/bu miss on wheat... the lack of a daily cash market... the lack of a reasonable buyback policy... we will not soon forget these foolish management decisions.

This has nothing to do with the 'single desk' any more.

It is straight destructive management by directors who fail to follow their own ethics/rules and code of conduct.

Shift the chairs, get a new captain, but if the good ole ship Jolly Rodger doesn't take a new tack... they will be calling the ole girl Titanic Rodger!

I know... I have said this many times.

Big difference now is... the $1/bu to $2... missing... is $10/bu to $20.

Why is your goal to destroy the CWB?

Interesting to see how quick Ritz is willing to tackle the CWB to gain political points with some of his supporters, but not willing to tackle the Transportation system , which is one of the more important problems. Could it be the work of the CN and Cp lobbyists?

            Nice try.

Most farmers are a little more interested in where the missing dollars are right now than the railway problems.

Since when did you speak for most farmers?

when does the CWB speak for the majority of barley producers? Your last surveys showed a further 10% drop in support for barley with permit book holders. And we all know the millions of acres that producers have that are not under permit books. Seems funny, for less than 8% of the total business the CWB does why risk it all to save barley, when you don't add value to barley, and your own surveys have shown that the past ten years running??
Heard at the rally time for another question Yes or No, you honestly want to risk that??? you won't lose just barley. What what you ask for, you prepared to loose it all if the question is asked??
I think not, perhaps by respecting and honouring what barley farmers have asked the CWB, perhaps you might be able to change how the CWB markets wheat before its too late. There by keeping your job, and some of those in Winnipeg.
The CWB if it survives won't be what it is today, yet I foresee it being a marketing option that could work for all of us, providing the choice we all have gotten with canola, pulses, oats, and the rest.
How about it? why not end your career as a director on a high note? one where you have gained the respect of your fellow producer !! Do what is needed from within to see the CWB change, adapt and survive! And not be known as a director that due to miss management and lack of foresight drove it into the grave.
                Erik
