How stupid is the American Government. Their bio fuels policy has created new demand for grain. Their subsidy level for bio fuels is a fraction of their previous farm subsidies. By cleaning up surplus supplies the market for all grains has risen. We also have a market that more closely tracks the energy market which must be all bad. We want $4.00 wheat when oil is over $100. per barrel. I wish we could go back to the way it was where our role was to produce cheap grain for the world and give it away at a loss. Then we could run to the government for more program payouts. Just like the net benefit we get for living under the defense umbrella of the U.S., Canadian grain farmers have benefited greatly from the U.S. policy decisions on bio fuels. Maybe you would rather they have doubled their farm subsidy levels and left bio fuels alone.Oh yes another problem created by the U.S. decisions. We have raised the price of wheat so high that no one wants to pay us a premium for our high quality wheat. Now maybe we can start talking about stupid policy decisions. We have one stop shopping in Western Canada for Ferrari Wheat. Great when everyone is buying Chevy wheat.
