NFU loses accreditation in Ontario

Couldn't happen to more deserving people in my
mind. They've had a long time to make sure they
met the guidelines to be accredited in Ontario but
couldn't/wouldn't make the changes to make NFU-
Ontario an autonomous organization. Instead it was
setup as a puppet to funnel over $400,000/year
into the national NFUs bank account with the
western-based national organization running the
show, even though Ontario had the bulk of the
members and provided the majority of the funding.

Do not forget that in order to farm in
Ontario you must belong to one of three
farm organizations, and in Quebec there is
only one organization and it is compulsory
to belong.We are so lucky in the west.

Actually you don't food4u, although you do have to
join one then request your money back which is a
backwards system. But anyway, now it's down to 2
(plus UCFO)

Agricorp administers the registration process. Farmers direct their fee to one of the now two accredited farm organizations. After registering and paying the fee, farmers can ask for a refund from the group they selected to receive their fee.

WTF. Until now I had never heard of this eastern palm-greasing. Government, and farming unions stroking each other with farmers money. Hard to believe people put up with this blatant coercion.
