Anyone else tired of basf trinkets

I am going to tell basf AGAIN to get rid of all the expense in sending out TRINKETS and crap in the mail.
Here's a novel IDEA how bout lowering the Chemical price instead,

Farmers looooove to get stuff. Spend a day at the
crop production show and watch the very clever
farmers that walk up to every single booth and put
their sticky mailing address label into the door
prize draws without even making eye contact with
    the representatives. It's comical really.
Ag suppliers switched onto this decades ago and
it is very successful marketing. Jackets, Letter
openers, hats, fridge magnets are all tried and
true methods of visual brand and product
    recognition.

Sorry, I did not provide much of a solution. I would
suggest calling their office and request that they
remove you from all mailings. It takes about 3
times. If you make the same habit for all
      companies, eventually it stops.

Dont waste your time filling out the forms for free draws at a trade show booth. I know for a fact they arent random draws.

The largest farms are usually hand picked winners.

They pay a third party to determine rebates and the like.

Had an email the other day out of the blue that my savings could be X amount if I buy their products.

They never told me how much I would spend to get that rebate, but I would suspect it would be 20 times what the rebate was.

Like you have said why not cut their third party rebates cost and lower the cost to producers.

That promo stuff costs is peanuts compared
to the profits they make off 10 litre pail
            of chemical.

Feel free to send stuff my way, im always
loosing pens and wearing out hats

              MB Grower,

Agreed. Not always the biggest farmer, but the most interested in your product that you want to follow up with and keep in contact with.Trade Show Marketing book.
You can pick the winners of your draws. After all, they paid for the booth and they are there to encourage business and make sales. This is a marketing strategy applied at all kinds of trade shows, not exclusive to ag.

I would think that these promo things are a tax write off for them as advertising. They buy at wholesale prices from importers then deduct taxes at full retail. Saving themselves millions on taxes.

In this way they can pass those savings back on to thier customers and keep the cost of products as low as possible. If they were to stop giving out promo they would have to increase cost of products to cover added costs.

hat as payment! Why da ya think theys
framers, cousin they have a high IQ and
are good at math. Nope my friend that
isn't the case. Anyone good at math er

We paid for them, better enjoy them.
Actually I agree... just give me a deal
on the product. High margins from
products sold = bigger and flashier ads.
                    Example: Bayer.

Propaganda, if the same thing is said
over and over sooner or later it becomes
believable even if it isn't true. I
hope everyone has a big grin on their
face when they pay for their Invigor
                    seed.

                    Sometimes I feel what little
intelligence I do have is getting
                    insulted!!

Sometimes more than trinkets... wife and I got 2 nites at the Radisson Hotel in Saskatoon, bused to Aberdeen Curling Rink. Curled 3 games, all you dared drink, breakfast, huge supper, catered lunches at rink, jackets, curling bags, gloves, hats, all free from Monsanto/Dekalb. 96 people were invited.
                        That was $$$.
Bayer rebates are in the thousands$$.
Perhaps the right chem rep, a local COOP.

fjlip: Was there fair treatment or did
they pick only their largest customers.
The tens of thousands of dollar guys AND
the hundreds of thousands of dollar(and
                          maybe million dollar) guys?
It's like dividends at the Co-op--you paid
for them anyway!!! But good for you!

I am so disappointed. Husky Oil used to
send us the pocket calendar, you know the
one where you stick the bills and tax
notices, etc in the right month (or wrong
one. This year no calendar. Wo is me, I
can't go on! They were great while they
lasted. Think its because of doomsday?
Maybe they thought I wouldn't need it
anyway. Some small tokens have value.
