Is L.D. the chicken or the egg. What I am saying is 3 or 4 years ago cargill at Battleford was supposedly paying rent on a large parcel of land, but this was supposedly on behalf of custom guy that wanted to chase this land.He went to them.

And to me it proved it may not work. He went from 5000ac to 40,000ac, then for a number of said reasons in one year down to 20,000 then to 12,000 - heard this year 2,000 - 5,000 not sure. There ic simply not enough money to go around no matter what size farm to have too many hands in the cookie jar.

Furrow: Oh yeah, and these are the guys
that are highlighted in farm publications
of various kinds, while the thousands of
unsung heroes will continue to farm their
humble holdings and be the real drivers of
primary ag production. There was some
kind of saying that "a dog that shits fast
        doesn't shit long".

All the more power to them.

Sf3 wouldn't worry, these examples of verticle
integration will not last long...a few oil companies
tried it in the 70's one of them was esso they
owned their own land, ran their own drilling rigs,
service rigs and all people on esso's tab didn't
take long for the pencil pushers to see that they
were bleeding cash at their primary levels....most
all companies now have it all contracted out right
to some of their in house offices keeps their risks
          to a minimum.

Forgive me Sask3 but this makes no sense at all.

Farmholic its one of the reservations and also a group of east Indians (New Canadians) from Vancouver.
Their was a large land rental by the same group south of melville.
Wondering if they are moving that operation West to get to way better land.

What does Reserve land and East Indians and Ld have in common besides nothing????

Hopper their was a large land holdings south of Melville that this was tried last year and the one before. East Indians who purchased large tracks of land.
Now they are buying West by Southey and Cupar.
The local Reserve has purchased thousands of acres in the cupar area and are renting it out.
              Connect the dots.
