Guys like chuck will lecture you on how you must run your farm business. They have for years.

However guys like chuck will not share their secrets to success into becoming the most obnoxious capitalists you will run across. Nor will they admit their entitlements. They can dish it out; but won't take it back.

I just wanted to point out that the majority of free market farmers support government intervention in the economy. Many of you talk a good line about getting government out of the way but when push comes to shove you want the government subsidies and protection. Limiting foreign ownership prevents the free flow of capital. I am all in favour of limiting non resident ownership. The last thing we need is bunch of mega landlords who have little committment to preserving rural communities. We also have a class of home grown farm families and corporations who are very greedy. 10,000 acres is not enough now they want 20,000, 30,000 or 40,000. Home grown mega farms also push a lot of young people out. I don't think taxpayers should be subsidizing mega farms. Why should we encourage 1 farm to operate a land base that could support 10 families?
