    was the most glorious.

The chinese stimulas plan was huge dwarfing
even the western worlds,so looks like we maybe
    competeing against some magically created
    money.

What exactly are the rules right now in
SK and AB to buy land? Does it apply to
      city lots? Residential development?

Why should anyone decide what I do with my property? Isn't it mine....to do with whatever I want as long as I don't infringe on my neighbours rights? Or was that just a bunch of bull shit?
How am I infringing on anyone if I sell to a Chinese person.....what he does with it is his concern, not mine!
If I sell to a German investor is it okay? Or a Dutchman? What if the European guy only buys it as an investment....is that evil...or is only the Chinese investor?
Basic economics 101...there is a buyer and a seller.....don't get in the way!

ASRG spoken like a landlord. It does
matter who you sell your land to. The
Chinese government is the biggest holder
of ill gotten gain in the entire world
because free markets don't exist there.
Thus they are controlling wealth that
rightly belongs to others mostly their
own citizens. Selling your land to the
communist party operatives is the same
as selling to the mafia or receiving the
proceeds of crime. If we had a sound
money policy this situation would not
exist. Less money printing and higher
interest rates would take care of the
          problem in short order.

Get the distintion straight between agricultural land and surveyed urban property (city, villages and hamlets ); and you then know (in Sask) what non residents and non Canadians can purchase.

Its less than 10 acres of farmland; and whatever urban property that a seller will part with.

More than 10 acres of farmland and you need the ememption; and are obliged to live up to the conditions. The Board just confirmed they will look into details.

As long as they LOOK into the details. There is a loop hole for the investors to jump thru. All they need is a single shareholder in Canada to be able to buy more than the 10 acres. Been in contact with the farm land security board about some land that is owned by a senior citizen in Ireland that he is using as an investment. The security board said it is legit because he has a shareholder in Ontario. I said that is bull shit!!! They said they will look into it in more detail.

taxes so your old ass can use this
                countries free health care and
                collection cpp you better ****ing
believe who you sell your land to is my
business. Because I sure as hell won't
have that luxury by the time we deal
with the economic mess you boomers have
left for us. I'm not so sure you boomers
won't manage to screw your selves out
those things on your own yet by selling
off all the resources and assets to
                foreign corporations and outsourcing all
the jobs. My futures been mortgaged
already if this stupidity keeps you will
end up upside down on it too.

shovel some snow, chill out. The world
ain't gonna end cuz a couple of chine
people got holda some farm land. Remember
a few years ago, when everyone was saying,
"Wood the last person to leave
Saskachewan, please remember ta turn the
lights out." Our enconomy is slowing
down, hence all this BS buying frenzy will
                    follow suit.

Not sure what doom and gloom you see. Has been a long time since I have seen so many young people interested in the agriculture industry. The cheques are made out to sask farmers who are staying in the province and spending money and paying taxes.

Arsg I get your point, it's bigger than the stupid
                          NDP.
But guys like you see short term gain where you
sell today for pennies and miss the fact that the
next generation of farmers are done.
                          Me myself and I.
Their is one way to stop this quit renting from
these land companies. Simple without us their
done, oh wait till the govt allows foreign
employees to work these farms because they
                          can't find qualified workers.

Actually in Canada land tenure is granted by the crown, therefore you don't own your land the crown does. Secondly free country? Come on if it was a free country I would be free to come and take your land, and you would be free to attempt to defend it. Third it's not a free market, especially when it comes to money I'll gotten by essentially stealing from the citizens , from a country that has not allowed it's currency to be valued according to its economy and discovered by a market. Nearly every war in history has been fought for resources, be it food, labor, raw material, even just space, etc. If you're too stupid to realize that when governments invest in another countries base resource it is for one purpose and one purpose only. So asrg if you can't pull your head out of your arse and enough others feel the same as you, I hope that you live long enough to have to learn Cantonese.

Boy a lot of emotion on this one. I have a comment
and a question. 1. when was it ever easy for a
young farmer or a wannabe farmer to get into the
game? Even if you found land to rent, the cost of
machinery was a killer and I'm talking the last forty
years. 2. Do we know for sure this is the Chinese
Government or just some rich individual Chinese.
I've met a few of those who have come here to kick
tires . And not just Chinese, many from India as
well. There are many rich individuals in both those
countries, don't bias your thinking on stereotypes.
Finally, Harper has been furiously buzzy building
his legacy by fast tracking free trade agreements
everywhere and anywhere. Saskfarmer 3, maybe
your bottom 40, or in your case, bottom 4,000 was
part of the deal. I wouldn't expect the Govt to give a
shit! As a Deputy Ag Minister once told me - "the
land will always be farmed, it doesn't matter to us
by who". That was in reference to the Hoots back in
                              the 80's.
