I wonder how much truth there is in these selling prices? SURE....... some speculator #1 can buy a 1/2 from his buddy #2 at a crazy price, get the locals worked up, then 2nd buddy sells worthless crap with alkaline on it for 4x what its worth, turns around and buys buddy #3's bushland for 3x assessment, finally gets locals to think good farmland is worth 20x crap-land. Land has never been "sold" to real buyers, just a bunch of speculator buddies conning ya'll

If it was a full quarter you could subdivide a first parcel out acreage and get 200-250 back. The remainer cost you 250-300 so for 155 acres its not to bad. (depending on location of course. In the county of Lacombe within 15 miles of highway 2 I doubt if you could buy a full bare quarter for less than 600 for poor land).
Not saying its right just showing how buyers may make the numbers work (also if you subdivide to get seperate title but don't sell your net worth looks 30% better on each quarter=more borrowing power to buy more land)
