EPA Proposes Change in RFS — The Environmental
Protection Agency is proposing a mandate of 16.5
billion gallons for renewable fuels this year, an
increase of nearly nine percent from 2012. This
standard includes ethanol, advanced biofuels, such as
biodiesel, and cellulosic ethanol. The EPA is also
proposing a new voluntary quality assurance program
for buyers of Renewable Identification Numbers to
verify their validity.
