With the amount of taxes that the RM will reap in
perpetuity I think ratepayers should be happy that the
council got anything for the lots. Maybe they should
    have given them to Ceres.

This project is of a big enough magnitude that it had to
be done behind closed doors until their ducks were in a
    row for the press release.

Wow! would you ever fit right in as the 8th yes man. On second thought I bet there already is a direct connection. (Certainly through identical brain wiring or is it brain washing).

Oneoff you have to admit the ,"give away
the Printer, and soak 'em for the ink"
business model has been very successful
      in several industries. Maybe your
municipal council is full of business
      savvy, taxation tycoons.

Your roads may soon be paved with
      gold.Lol

So councillor LEP, what is the taxation deal, or is that a hush, hush, secret too?

Another one of my councils is personally overseeing the paving of 6 miles of Highway 361 to Provincial Dep't of DHighway standards.

So it is paving with oil and not gold.... but I guess it could capped with gold later.

Is that called making a good paying job for oneself?. And they maybe setting the fee as well. And yes we do have foreman; who would more appropriately do such work (if the RM should be involved in building Provincial government Highways in the first place).

Where does one start in talking about rot that should never had a place to gain a foothold?.

Now the following is just the story that is going around , and since the actual facts will not be ever be willingly publically disclosed; it is the best informtion available without risking staff or council alleging "inappropriate behavior". I would like to know the actual truth; but can't presently risk the call to get the information firsthand; but it will come out.

For what it is worth.... Local council members may now be getting up to $300 a day ("reportedly") plus other very signficant increases.

As for "skin in the game"; try 80 acres of assessable farmland for the topdog (no farm improvements or residence in "his" RM). Remember that RM's aren't like urban municipalities where you have to live in that jurisdiction to represent others there. (That a tidbit for those who want to learn something today).

There are additional benefits that the ordinary taxpayers are not aware of. Maybe they will also come out someday.

Its time a lot of others grew some balls. The other half of the population need to be involved as well; and indeed my lead the way to some new form of "Sufferage" to save us all.

Missed a couple points on the Highway. 361.

It is a reported fact that "Option B" was chosen and money has to be borrowed for financing the municipality this year (subject to Municipal Board approval). I guess it was not deemed to be important to fill in the amount to be borrowed; or define what "Option b" might be.
But everyone is informed about what they need to know??????

Maybe the real question is if anyone needs to know anything at all.

Are the dictators not running the show.?

This goes back to my original beef with your bellyaching
                Oneoff, Jacksprattwhynot, etc..

If you are this interested in these affairs and claim to
come at these issues from the majority point of view,
                then RUN FOR RM COUNCIL.

You should be elected in a landslide if you truly are on
                the side of the majority.

By not running, I think you really would rather
anonymously bitch and whine than make the effort.

Now that there is traction LEP, why don't you get off your high horse bullshit, and inform the ratepayers, and the public about all the secrets to this deal that you know about, and quite likely participated in?

I think you are mistaken checking. I am located in west
central sask, no where near oneoff, jackspratwhynot,
or what ever user name he is using today.

I am just irritated by oneoff's preachy, whiney,
arrogance when the logical course of action was to do
something about it when he had the chance. If you
look back in the fall we had this discussion and oneoff
put his tail between his legs and ran.

He has all kinds of time to write volumes about an
issue, but wouldn't lift a finger to put his name on the
                    ballot.

No sense trying to engage in a debate with an idiot. They'll wear you down and beat you with their experience.

                          LEP.

I haven't given up on you. You have, however, proven that you are not mathematical when you come up with the tired old cure to solving Sk. dysfunctional municipal governance system. It's too tiny to run elections that are already predetermined in results based on the size of your family. You should at least acknowledge that fact, and stop preaching that running is the solution.

You may recall that the SE experienced a flood of late along the Souris river system. The bridges that span the river took a major beating to the point that for a period of time many were closed over safty concerns. It meant a long drive for southside river residences to get to the north side towns and cities that serviced them. The story going around was that it didn't matter whether the south side was cut off or not. The only thing that would result is that they would be a little more inbred by the time the bridges were repaired.

Take it as a given that this is what is wrong with municipal government in Sask.
