Another new terminal in SE Sask

Two seperate sources revealed that a Paterson elevator (according to one source); or the other party had heard a "Parrish & Heimbecker" facility was to be built west of Carnduff. An administrator only would say that it was at the rumour stage.

It appears that competition for sourcing grain is heating up well past the necessity to handle local grain grown within 50 miles of the the 49th parallel.

Only negative comment would be that there are plenty of potential sites available; and hopefully it isn't councils and secret meeetings that are solely determining their favorite location.

This is good news for the southeast. I'm sure the Carnduff coffee row will have 10 different versions of what and who is doing the buildingby now.

I think they'ed be better building it at Alameda, at the junction of #9 and #18, also close to Northgate port of entry. Maybe even Frobisher, if the old CRN line to Northgate gets revived.

Ask someone at RM of Mount Pleasant. Las time I checked, zoning, development and land transactions are not just personal business to be held as secrets amongst a few individuals.

Oneoff, if council benefitted personally from
insider information, they can be charged.

If they are sworn to secrecy to protect the
transaction, me thinks its same as when you work
for the government, you are not free to disclose
            information. Check it out.

But "sworn to secrecy by whom"

Every developer should come to council at the point they are ready to obtain he required and necessary regulatory approvals.

Otherwise it is a matter of compromising elected officials at initial stages; by involving them at the initial stages of lining up proposals.
There is the real possibility that there may even be a competing proposal(s); and just what to do when the first offer has been given the tacit go ahead and indications of full support (in secret).

I fully understand what you're saying; and the way for any government to handle that is to have clear policies on tax relief, zoning, community plans on what is acceptable and welcome; goals etc. Additional new compromises should be made known to everyone; as they have full right (in my opinion) to be kept up to date.

Any interested parties who wish to share insider information should be directed to putting that into a development permit application that will be promptly dealt with through required any public meetings and council meetings decisions.

Its a pretty important piece of information to know when a council changes long standing policy. In fact someone who swings such a change; has the inside tract on the future of an area. Its obvious why they might want secrecy....and it should be obvious why that change might be of interest to other developers and the ratepayers who should determine their futures.

Don't ever assume that "stright thinking" can be counted on.

Look at the Senator's and a few tens of thousands or even a few miserable hundreds submitted for expenses.

I'll bet it started with slipping in a bill for something quite "grey"; and then seeing how easy it was to get paid; along with the supposed knowledge that "every fellow Senator" did it to some extent. Your worldly experience or intellect and capability of comprehension has next to no influence.

Have we all forgotten the widespread scandal from the Grant Devine cabinet minister days. A "saddle" or pieces of useful computer software; or coins of the realm or stacks of thousand dollar bills in safety deposit boxes; or even a poor bugger who probably took his life probably over the shame of some horribly dumb error in judgement.

When will someone else's "punishment" be remembered the next day or the next decade; as a lesson that newly tempted officials will promise to not to repeat in their lifetime.

You can avoid most of the above by recognizing the conflict; excusing oneself and refusing to participate.

And the rest of us can support those who make the right choices and support good government policy.
