      Agstar77,

Now without the single desk CWB
      watching/monitoring... no need to know!

      Cheers

        Burbert,

If you don't bring it up with the owner of the facility...
how will they know you are upset?

Write them a LETTER... and tell THE owners!

There is a percent of dairy products the Liberals
negotiated would be allowed in to Canada when the
last WTO agreement was signed. BLAME them.

        Cheers

Right a letter. Ifn I wrote a letter
ever time I was pissed, I'd be doin
nothin butt rightin letters. What I
really hope happens is that some Chine
          guy somewheres has a continental
breakfast in a hotel in China, and he
gets Comedian butter ta spread on his
toast, then he'll right a letter and get
this thing straightened out!!!! Ha, ha,
          ha, Comedian framers'll get exactly
what they deserve in future. Fn chine
butter on Comedian or maybe Chine toast
in future. Heil Harper, F Ritz.....

Tom once again you make no sense. All you "Freedom" fighters were dreaming in color when you all thought that there would be dozens of mills going up in the west once the board was gone. Maybe I've missed the press releases but the only mill that was announced on "Freedom" day never got started and never will. What are you going to blame or use as an excuse now? As far as Elie, its an organic mill. Wtf are you even talking about it????

So you are saying that part of the old CWB role was to keep outdated/inefficient domestic flour milling plants in operation? At what cost to farmers?

Realizing we are only 7 months into a deregulated wheat market, is that lack of investment in value adding cereals in western Canada a result of the regulatory structure (old or new) or a challenge with changing attitudes in western Canada to something different than producing a commodity we export? What has to happen different to create value adding opportunities?

Way off the wall but could that be a role of a new CWB. Move up the supply chain and create value this way.

                  notaredneck,

I do not need to mill wheat to get the increased milling
value (the added value CWB single desk subsidized
them by). I sold good milling wheat for over $8.00
today... no need to try to extract more...

MILLING is a business... that needs top management
and efficiencies of scale to work. I am glad I can get
world price for my milling wheat... today... at the local
elevator. That is all I ever needed. No need to go to the
US now... or mill that wheat. Why would I want to?

                  Cheers!

You're missing the point Tom. One argument I've heard over and over and the big announcement that Rizt made on your so called Freedom day was that they're will be more value added happening in the west once the board is gone. That was obviously a wet dream

                      Notaredneck,

It is YOU who are missing the point.

We are allowed to charge full and fair market value...
Our farm is NOT now forced to sell to the CWB at the
lower Single Desk price... therefore we DO actually add
value on EVERY tonne our farm sells to; whichever
marketer we choose as competition can bid UP the
price if we are patient and disciplined.

This is value added in the most efficient form... paid to
the actual grower who grew the crop itself... We
SHOULD be the ones who most deserve fair market
                      value.

                      Cheers!
