    seed treaters

Any one using a Nrc seed treater? I am thinking
    of a G3 or Nrc.

I get my pulses custom treated with polymere
    coating.
It would just be used for Durum.

Neighbors built one that mixes tote bag size lots
for coating canola. Used an old unload auger out
of a big grain cart. Auger is I would guess 3'
across and bin 6'. Mixes very well and fast. A
tractor loader with a lifting beam attached to lift
the tote bags high enough to dump into the mixer
than a tote bag hanging system underneath. Stuff
mixes in 3 or 4 minutes. The stuff their coating the
canola with is Omex, primer mn , nutrition

      I google it......

      Primer Manganese - Omex Canada
      omexcanada.com/primer-manganeseHome ·
Products · Plant Nutrition Programs · About Omex
... Primer Mn is a Phosphorus, Potassium and
Zinc-based product and also contains background
      levels of other critical nutrients.

I did a side by side with primer - no difference. Not worth the hassle.

Have you also considered a zig zag treater from focus industries?

It is on sale at co-op stores for under $600. Not sure if it works or how fast, but the concept looks fine.

I have a G3 and it is ok, but not nearly as great as they brag it up to be. Good operator with a dripper could probably get very similar results. The G3 requires 2 augers and it appears that the NRC would only need 1 auger.

NRC could not be used to pull out of flat bottom bins.

            Thanks for the info.

We treat out of hopper bins or could treat out of
            truck with flat bottom bins.

I will have to look at treater at coop.

I use a 55 gallon electric yard sprayer with an orifice, then I have a short piece of pipe welded into the auger. Works pretty good and allows you to control application rate very well.
