          The God-damned commodities markets, the stock markets and everyone else robs from us every year. In 2008, my company pension funds was robbed of over 14% of its value. Nothing we could do about it.

            Is picking off savings and income any different here
            than Cyprus or NZ. Btw, Cyprus voted no chancy. I'm
            referring to Flaherty phoning BMO and Manulife to
            raise their mortgage rates - which translates into
            giving banks more money than the marketplace deems
            necessary. Why is the Canadian $ falling - because
            investors are seeing optimism in other currencies,
            especially US $. It is possible that you can be too big
            to fail.

              NZ is not copying cyprus, they are only going to take a levy from depositors if the bank needs a bailout sometime in the future, not the country.

                Hedgehog so your saying their going to steal your hard earned money to cover their screw ups.
                Makes one feel warm and cozy as the executive of these banks get huge bonus's and live the high life.
