It's not great, that's for sure.

I am happy about pricing the bulk of my 2012 the day before though. I was going to replace half those tonnes with futures, but decided to wait until after the USDA report. Again, glad I waited.

Typically, if you are trying to ration grain, lowering the price is not an effective method to build supplies.

Although they said there is more grain, much like statscan, I am not sure they are correct. This june or july statscan will adjust the numbers to make it all work because they have 2 years to adjust numbers - right or wrong.

Bringing grain into the states from SA is the first hint there is not as much as they think.

Anyway, lower prices will create more demand and if they miscalculated stocks because they are counting on borrowing from an early harvest it will get interesting.

No doubt the majority of farmers are aware this may not be an early spring. For canola that pushes flowering into the heat, and lowers yield. For corn it pushes back harvest where they end up out of corn in august.

No sense in overthinking this though.

The Yanks System is Designed To Export Grain, Not Import, Sure Few Wheel Barrel Loads Might Trickle into Coastal Areas, But Nothin To Talk About, This Nothin More Than BS to Drive The Markets Down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
