About 20 years ago I worked for dupont for a summer. The rule of thumb with Muster was it would kill weeds up to a loonie size. In other words, basically cotlyedons. Of course it worked on bigger weeds, but at that time the recommendation was spray early.

When they changed surfactants with muster you could kill stinkweed up to baseball size. Previous to that loonie was all.
Not sure but think they switched from can plus to merge.

Yes they changed surfactant to Merge. There
were specific mixing instruction on the label as
          well.

Thanks for the links BTO. I never cared that much
about heritage seeds or saving them but lately
with the canola thing, and now RR alfalfa, I am
really seeing how these companies will chokehold
the farmers in the future. Next thought, what am I
going to do about it. No, BTO an automatic
weapon will not work in every situation!
