    Guess it never occures to them to lower the mill rate to off-set the increase in assessment, They'll enjoy spending all that extra money.

      Boarder: I thought rural and urban
      municipalities don't have the ability to
      raise or lower the school portion of
      taxes(Mill rates). The Municipal portion
      they can adjust if they see fit. So ya,
      the increase in property values will
      benefit the municipal level too, but what
      they do about it is up to them, unlike the
      school portion.

        I believe Brad told SARM or SUMA that the education
        mill rate will be revenue neutral. So they are working
        with the same size pile of cash.

        That doesn't mean each property will be taxed the
        same before and after reassessment.

        I would find it difficult to believe that there would be
        any properties that went down in assessment, but they
        may have risen in assessed value at different rates.
