RBC hires foreign workers in canada!

So the RBC has decided to fire Canadians
workers and hire out of country workers to work in
    canada with temporary visas.
Didn't I say a few months back that the next big
thing to happen on canada is companies will bring
in under short term visas temp employees to fill
    jobs in canada.
Who's first out of the gate RBC.
This is the same company that the Feds gave on
page 145 of the budget the right to confiscate
Canadian savings to help our banks in time of
need! Same companies that will bring on foreign
workers to take our jobs then we will loose our
    accounts when they screw up!
This is you can't have your cake and eat it.
Here is some facts I found out yesterday on
Jamaica. Our Canadian banks are charging 18%
interest for car loans. Or 9.9 % for a home
    mortgage. Screw screw screw!
The more I see the more I realize we're all
heading for a serious crash! No one will be safe!
Time to close some RBC accounts!

I will sit and wait before getting too excited about the RBC deal as the rest of our banks are likely doing the same just this one was brought to light first. The deal about the Chinese mining company in B.C. using the foreign worker program to bring in workers is also being investigated as they are supposed to hire Canadians first, hard to believe a mining company in B.C. could have a hard time finding workers, then again its Chinese owned, not sure I would want to work for them either, one good thing the union is doing, glad to see our gov't looking into this.

Large farming companies have been doing this for some time and will
continue to do this on a larger scale in the future.

The foreign worker program is for low paying jobs that Canadians do not want to do typically. Interesting read about mine workers in Australia. Would not want to meet this guy on a bad day, :-))

Hopper these were 40000 plus a year jobs. This is
the next thing that's coming. Companies crying
that they can't find workers so Canada let us bring
in workers for a short period of time to fill the jobs.
All these Chinese farms will have short term
migrant workers farming the land and getting paid
          sweet f$& k all?

            How to hire foreign workers

            http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/tfw-guide.asp#a6

Things to Know Before Starting the Process
•To hire a foreign worker, you generally must obtain a positive LMO (also known as an employment confirmation) from Service Canada, unless the work category is exempt from the LMO process. To determine if you are exempt from the LMO process, contact Citizenship and Immigration Canada (see Step #1 of “Hiring Foreign Workers in Just 4 Steps”).
•If an LMO is required, you must obtain the employment confirmation before your prospective foreign worker(s) apply for a work permit.
            •When applying for an LMO, you will have to demonstrate 1.the efforts made to recruit and/or train willing and available Canadians/permanent residents;
            2.that the wages you are offering are consistent with the prevailing wage rate paid to Canadians in the same occupation in the region;
3.that the working conditions for the occupation meet the current provincial labour market standards; and
4.any potential benefits that the hiring of the foreign worker may have on the Canadian labour market (e.g., creation of new jobs, transfer of skills and knowledge, etc.).

•In most cases, foreign workers must apply for a work permit at a Canadian visa office abroad.
•Depending on their country of citizenship, foreign workers may require a temporary resident visa (TRV) to enter Canada.
•Depending on the type of work they will undertake in Canada and where they have resided in the last year, foreign workers may also require a medical examination before entering Canada.
•Foreign workers may be refused a work permit and entry into Canada by a Border Services officer (regardless of whether employment confirmation has been obtained) if they are found inadmissible for a number of reasons, including criminal, security or medical grounds.

Hiring Temporary Foreign Workers in Just 4 Steps

In the majority of cases, there are four steps involved in hiring a temporary foreign worker from outside Canada. The need to complete each step will depend on the specifics of the job offer and the foreign worker’s country of citizenship and last permanent residence.

Employers and foreign workers must ensure that they provide accurate and complete information or the application process may be delayed.

            The four steps are:
1.Determine if you require an LMO
2.Apply for an LMO from Service Canada (if required)
3.Advise the foreign worker(s) to complete the work permit application, which is then processed by CIC (if applicable)
4.A Border Services Officer at a port of entry issues the work permit

The large efficient farms are hiring imports to
cover their labour shortages in this area.
It's good business. Paying lower wages brings
down cost of production. The employees are
satisfied because they operate the biggest and
most comfortable machinery money can buy.
They also get to work extra hours and have never
made so much money in the home country.

You mean our domestic labor doesn't want
to get out of their parents basements
where they live in some fantasy cyber-
                world and instead become productive
contributing members of a real society,
imagine that!!! By the way, my brush in
                not all inclusive.

Maybe farmaholic, others would like to have the
privileges and subsidies that you have enjoyed over the
                  years.

I will. Have you collected agristability or agri-invest? Sold
grain for ethanol? Lets face it: the ethanol industry is
merely subsidized surplus disposal. Have you inherited land
from family? Full disclosure: I have benefited from agri
invest but am aware it is tax dough.

True we have all benefitted and sometimes cursed subsidization, something that I see coming to an end as we see investors pocketing 10 percent per year profits. Expect it all to come to an end. AJL that all has nothing to do with migrant workers.
I think I read somewhere that 15 percent of those migrant workers per year get their permanent residence so a lot of them want to live here. Medicare, welfare, dental, the list goes on.

ajl: Nothing from Agstability since the
                          name change(did get CAIS once-frost
                          year). AgInvest-of course. No ethanol
wheat. Inherit the farm(and paying life
insurance on parent to even the score
with siblings), but would have to say
earned it--did something as soon as was
able to and built on it.

Sorry, but I still don't see the
                          connection between slackers not wanting
to work and immigrant's willingness to
work and the fact I benefited from the
industry I chose to be part of.

                          I have personal experience(nephews and
their cousins) with the comment I made
earlier. These guys seem to think they
are above certain jobs or minimum wage
when they have done nothing to EARN a
"certificate of anything" or stayed at a
job long enough to not be embarrassed to
include it on a resume. If I was a
                          prospective employer and saw these
resumes--red flag!! So, I am not
blaming the immigrants for taking the
                          jobs our citizens won't.

I just want to understand your point, I
am trying to make mine clear...

If you was to find one of those basement bums you mentioned, thatwas living in the equilivent slum most of these migrants are and offered to pay 10 times as much as the worst job on the block and throw in a 6 or eight mo paid exotic holiday I think you would have lots of them rolling out.
Then there is those that pay and then charge , for rent food management fees and other little things that said worker cant complain about or home they go. Sure most still make a lot more than they could at home but dosent our oil workers that go overseas get a hell of a lot more than at home?
Now I am like you I am not painting everyone who uses forigen workers with the same brush but there are a lot of shisters out there and a good deal of them are farm operators.
