Check out Salina kansas as at 10.30 pm it is already 0 with a low of -2 expected. Those religous grain traders in chicago, minn and Kansas city better stand up to the plate and start paying for what wheat is left if they want a bun with their burger by fall!

here's current temps, Current Temps

How big is the wheat in Nebraska?

If that cold moves east across NE, KS, OK and TX tonight, it could be some story. A lot of that wheat will be under 30'F for 8-10 hours!

If the winter wheat gets fozen so bad its a bust,
cant they just work it down and plant corn and
beans?

yes they can plant other crops but corn seed is unavalable from poor crop last year but there is lots of beans around. Some of these areas are so dry recropping is impossible.

IMO, the U.S. will never plant 99 mil ac of corn this year - it will be mathamaticaly impossible after this storm and cold weather. More like 95...
