Newguy most 20 & 30 something's interested in the political process have already been corrupted by our liberal education system and media, therefore already vote left. The question is if they can decide how far left to vote all at the same time.

I don't want to be cynical, but the Liberals electing Justin Trudeau as their leader seems to me to be a desperate grab at old glories and single minded grasping for return to power. There were other candidates who actually had policy convictions, but didn't have a trumped up boxing match win or the last name of Trudeau.
Same old, same old.

Trudeau has something Harper does not have -
charisma. That's what his old man got elected on
first time around. And - positive image. JT became
a rock star when he pummelled Brazeau - the
Senate appointee of Harper. Another stark contrast I
noticed that will have mass appeal. A photo of
Trudeau with his two kids sitting on his knee at the
convention, hugging him. Contrast that with the
picture of Harper shaking hands with his son on the
first day of school. It's this kind of stuff that
resonates with people. Substance - MEH! We all
know politicians say whatever they think you want
to hear at election time. At least this will be a
couple of interesting years, for a change.

Goodtime, do you think the West will allow itself to
be bullied and beaten like we're the East's
redheaded stepchild? I suspect we would stand
up for ourselves.

The same way queeebec does! Blackmailling the rest of Canada.
The west is the engine for canada. If justine realizes that, the pcp could be in trouble. But after watching a little bit of the liberal thing, Harpers going to be ok.
I think justine is a spoiled rich kid with a fake facade trying to appease everyone. Chretien was a crook, Martin pampered the natives not for their benefit but for his. Iggy and dion - who?. And then there is Bobo rae.

ADO. I do not think the 20 to 40 year
old voters are not willing to give any
party a blank cheque. Is that not a good
thing? Personally I have voted for many
differant parties in the past. Have
tried to understand what each party has
to offer not only for me but my area my
province and my country. Sometimes it
may happen what is best for me and my
country is 2 differant parties so I
change my vote accordingly. Wanted to
get rid of CWB so I voted Conservative.
Now I think Harper is way too
controlling with everyone and it is time
for a political correction.But I also
know politics is a religion to some and
in those cases people only see and
believe what they want to.

These ads are about defining your opponent before they have a
chance to create an impression in the voters mind. Parties have
used it successfully for decades.
Why do you think all the talk of the "Hidden Agenda" of anybody
opposing the Sask NDP arose. You put doubt in the voters mind
and it takes alot to remove it.
The big thing going for Harper is that most under 30 don't vote.
But if Elections Canada ever let you like someone on facebook
instead of vote watch out. Ha.

Funny thing most people are wondering why these adds?
If someone is supposed to be so no good then why is someone else so worried about him?
Giving alot of media attention to Trudeau, is that always bad?
Also many people take offence to the add looking down on teachers etc, that was a big mistake. This add may cost alot more than it gained.
I agree he has no experience but people also equate experience with being bought off or under control of people too. So who knows.

Happened to watch a bit of the Liberal
from the east talking about getting the
government to look into the RBC new
workers being hired. Basically PC mps
are being forced to go with what Harper
says even though it may not be what is
what that MP believes is best for the
people who elected him. We have a very
good PC rep and I heard he was not
running in the next election. So which
is better. To have a leader that thinks
he knows best and everyone has to do as
he says or a leader with less experience
that listens to other people's opinions
and then decides what to do?Which leader
would you want to sit under as a MP.
