Late last year someone posted a link to a farm video
that was done covering the crop season from
seeding to harvest. I recall it was a family operation
near Rosebud, Rockyford or Standard Alberta. I
remember that it was really well done and that most
of the equipment was Case IH. And that's about all.
But, with my involvement with the Grain Academy
and Museum, I'm looking for something like that for
our theatre presentations. We have a very good
video that tells the story of how it was, how the
West was settled, and how the grain and oilseeds
industry became such a huge resource to Western
Canada. It's a 20 yr old video and I'm looking for
something to augment it that clearly illustrates
today's technology and practices and features
current farming operations. Any similar video might
also work.
We collaborate with local School Boards and have a
number of different programs to offer that suit the
curriculum according to grade. Most of the 2 to 4
thousand urban school kids who visit us each year
are between grades 1 to 5. A suitable video would
be between 5 to 10 minutes long.
