Not neccessarily latest but the tuffest was a few years ago when we started about mid may and the rain never stopped and can remember planting and digging v ditches at the same time planting around running water, we pretty much only had small triangles to plant after going around the ditches and sloughs. All in all that one year we made money cause the crop was awesome even though we only planted 50 percent of the acres and sprayed all of it. So expenses were up there, So that is how farming goes, Not to mention got a 6 incher in a couple hours the fall before and was straight cutting malt barley really bad thing to put the header in the water. Pulled off a malt barley crop with that shit. We have not seen nothig yet. Need good help or screwed.

Other than the too wet to seed anything years, 1996 was the latest start
to seeding here. Started seeding May the 27th, seeded CPS wheat on the
4th of june finished with argentine canola about June 14th.

Crop was actually pretty good, it was just a late, wet, miserable
harvest, and everything had to be dried. No frost damage though in the
        fall, by some miracle.

This year is shaping up to be at least that late, maybe worse for
starting seeding. Just starting to see stubble poking a bit here and
there, no bare patches yet. In 1996, most of the snow had melted by now,
the delay was a late april foot and a half of snow, not a cold spring
like this has been. Hence, this year is hard to tell, cuz it is so
unprecedented. At least in the last 113 years, anyway.

But on a side note was in Saskatoon yesterday. Wow plus 8 and Regina 3 Davidson to Saskatoon snow going fast. Ski hill to Saskatoon its over. City of Saskatoon was cleaning streets. Regina this morning white. Hm Not good not good at all.

I just keep thinking about all the water that has to
flow with the record snow pack.

My guess is a month till seeding.

I farm near a good sized lake. The ice is usually completely cleared off the lake May 1 - 4. Earliest has been April 28th. Latest 2 years were May 10th and May 11th, both in the last 10 years. Looks to be later this year.

1974 and 1975 were both wet springs. Both years
we started seeding on May 16th. In 75 we seeded
for two days and it rained around two inches. We
still got done in May but lots in the area were still
seeding in June. We had good crops but most of it
graded a three cause of frost.

Dad says '66. Snow stayed well into May and trees didn't leaf out till June.
